Description:	Organic Food Markets is now over 15 years old. Initially we concentrated on certified organic produce with many bio-dynamic and other certified organic producers, but over the years public interest in food and markets has grown. On the food side there has been the farmers market movement, fair trade, food miles and now slow food. On the markets side the social role of markets, allowing social interaction, meeting and greeting, personal indulgence in all forms of goodies from a coffee to a Malay curry and listening to music or watching street performers has become more important and the role of markets in fostering and enhancing micro-business has been recognized. Organic Food Markets embraces change! Each of our markets has its own unique personality and atmosphere. Marrickville for example is very alternative, vintage and has a strong artistic feel, with recycling being very important, and often exciting new artists of all kinds are displaying their work. Orange Grove is very cosmopolitan, full of food and designer cloths. Frenchs Forest is very organic, relaxed and full of people going to or from the beach. Our policy has produced city markets that satisfy the mind, body and soul. They represent the best places to purchase Certified Organic Produce at affordable prices, but they also provide conventional fresh food and gourmet delights to take home, a place to buy a special or unique dress, an old book, or somewhere to get great value plants for the garden, fresh flowers for the home, and just the best day out.... rain or shine!
