29 June 2010 FLARE UP IN SPRAY BOOTH CONTAINED Flare-up in spray booth contained

Police are investigating a fire (pictured left and above) that occurred at a Gladesville panel beater repair shop last Thursday. At about 2.30pm an employee was using spray paint on a vehicle when smoke was seen emanating from the extraction ducting.
Shortly after, the spraying equipment ignited, believed to be caused by the gas heating furnace connected to the spray booth.
The fire was contained to the vehicle in the spray booth on the second level. Neighbouring business premises were evacuated by police and the fire was extinguished by the Fire Brigade.
There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire, say police. TWT on-the-spot PHOTOS
