The Hunters Hill Art Exhibition returns this May with an exciting 10-day program which includes the main Exhibition in 3 historic venues, special events and happenings, Pop Ups, live music, free art classes, the Art | History tours, delicious food, family-friendly activities and so much more.
The Hunters Hill Art Exhibition since 1955 has been a constant feature on the Sydney art calendar. Now with almost 1,000 entries it is a highly competitive and respected institution amongst artist. With over 350 finalists you will be captivated and inspired with the art works on display. If you are a looking to bring your walls to life with some original Australian art work or you are a longstanding collector, don’t miss this special opportunity to discover a new artwork or artist
Hunters Hill is Sydney’s veritable art-village and there is no better time than during the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition to discover the beautiful and historic garden suburb of Hunters Hill.
The annual Hunters Hill Art Exhibition attracts both emerging and established artists and you will be sure to find an artwork that captivates and inspires you. All artworks are available for sale.
The exhibition will kicks off with an Opening Night celebration on Friday 12th May from 7pm. Patrons will be treated to an amazing showcase of original Australian artworks with over 350 finalists to discover.
The chosen artworks will be displayed in three historic venues, Hunters Hill Town Hall, Vienna Cottage and Hunters Hill Congregational Church and guests will be served fantastic canapés, wine and beer.
Opening Night is a great night, with a palpable buzz in the air. If you are a looking for a new art work arrive early as many of the well-priced artworks are expected to be snapped up fast.
Tickets for the Opening Night event are available from Hunter’s Hill Council, online and on the night. General Admission from 7.00pm is $20pp and the Buyer’s Preview from 6.00pm is $25pp.

Festival of Art Weekend
HHAE Festival of Art Weekend (Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May) will commence with two jam-packed days of festivities for all ages to enjoy.
Saturday 20th May – you and your family can catch The Ben Noir Duo in Garibaldi Village Square as well as live spanish guitar at Ottimo Italian Restaurant.
Sunday 21st May – Lolo Lovina and the Gypsy Caravan Stage will perform in D’Aram St. On Sunday 21st May 2017, there will be the HHH Pop Up Bar, interactive kid’s workshops and more.
Art | History Tour
In addition to viewing the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition, you can discover Hunters Hill’s rich cultural heritage by joining an Art | History Tour strolling through historic sites, visiting the Pop-Up Art galleries.
Tickets are priced $15pp and include the tour, entry to the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition, art catalogue plus tea, coffee or a cool drink. Enjoy generous lunch options – for Art History walkers – at selected cafes.
The Hunters Hill Art Exhibition program includes Pop Up galleries, displays of original Australian art in local restaurants, cafes and other businesses and locations.

Curated by Honey Ant Gallery – this Pop Up gallery is situated in the Garibaldi Village Square (HHAE Gold Sponsor) Utopia artists are renowned for their superb use of colour. Sometimes the colour palette is delicate and subtle; at other times bold and strong. Canvases often shimmer with fine dots and line-work, creating superb movement and dimension. Ceremonial designs, bush foods and traditional medicine, seasonal changes to plants and country are all represented in the complex elements that underlie the best of Utopia paintings.
