You know a new restaurant is worth visiting, when surrounding chefs, local bloggers and businesses sing their praises!
One of the newest kids on the DHH block, is the beautiful Bistro54. Fitting sweetly into our heritage cottage at 54 Alexandra St, Hunters Hill, they are enjoying high praise already from happy customers including Ward Partners , Ottimos, Eurocycles, Hunters Hill Optical and one of our faves since 1894, HH Lawn Tennis Club.
Chef and owner, Steven Medak is passionate about locally sourced produce, also being organic wherever possible. Steven worked at About Life Rozelle, a very large organic produce and health product concept store, before taking the leap to focus on food and service, creating Bistro54.
With his passion for food, Steven has crafted a particularly spectacular menu… try the smoked sashimi (lots of fun to decant) and his raw carrot cake dessert (that is actually good for you) is a must order.
Bistro54 is open for bookings Tuesday to Sunday. They have just launched a fabulous new menu this week, that includes entree, main and a glass of ‘something intoxicating’ to make your visit that wee bit special.
Recently interviewed in the Northern District Times, where they say “locally sourcing every single ingredient on its menu, head chef and owner Steve Medak says the restaurant is aiming to capitalise on the community feel that Hunters Hill is famous for.”
We totally agree with NDT writer John Besley… Steven is already building connection with local businesses and residents … and has joined Discover Hunters Hill … you’re our kinda guy, Steve! Thanks for being a part of us, Bistro54. It’s certainly fun to connect with your posts on facebook and instagram, and of course, whenever we visit!
